Service code

My girlfriend and I were test driving a '96, Grand Sport convertible today and the "service ltrwps" (As close as I can remember), came up on the information center. Since there was no owners manual with the car (is there ever?) I wasn't able to look it up and the dealer just had a puzzled look on his face when I told him. Can anyone tell me what that meant? Wouldn't want to but a car with problems from the start. Thanks.

Sorry don't have a code book but Iwould be a little wary that the salesman didn't go ask someone in the shop what that code refered to.Ask them to do a system code read out before you put down your hard earned cash!!!w:

The Code

The code you saw was related to the "Low Tire Pressure Warning System" .. at least one of the tires was found by the computer to have less air pressure than recommended.
I wouldn't sweat it too much now.. sounds like you got out and back ok. However, if excessive it could affect braking and handling.

Are you going to buy it??

Don't know for sure yet. Purchase will depend on the acquisition of finances, insurance, etc. You know how it goes. The car is wonderful. It is black, a convertible with leather interior, LT-4 engine and only 32,400 miles. Dealer said it belonged to someone from Palm Springs, however, CarFax, shows that the last smog was in Union City, up near San Francisco. The best part of the whole thing is that the dealer said we can get it for $20,500. It would be nice to be able to pull up to the next Corvette club meeting in it and watch the expressions of those who have been looking down on us because of the beat up, piece of you-know-what '81. hehehe
