Service Ride Control (with codes)

I was driving home from work and received a “Service Ride Control” message. It went away after about one minute. When I got home I checked the codes and here is what I got.

10PCM 1571H: ASR Desired Torque
38RTD C1725H: RR Shock Absorber Solenoid (Short to Voltage)

I have received messages “service ABS” and “Service traction control” in the past and they always go away after a restart and don’t show again for a couple weeks. Most of the time the service traction control message would appear after hitting a bump or after hammering it. Any ideas?
I unplugged and replugged some wires around by rear tires just to make sure everything was connected.
Anything else I can do?

HI there,
Being that you have a 97, the 1571 is considered normal as long as it is history or H.
However, your ABS TCS problems could be different from what you have here.
The C1725 will cause a service ride control message, but not service ABS.
You can check the system but normally, this is requiring more in depth diagnostic. Most likely, the shock will have to be replaced.

Is their any easy way to diagnose the issue? I have very limited tools. I tried to look online for replacement shocks but I couldn’t easily find any for my car. I have the adjustable suspension. All the ones I found would disable that feature. All I want are GM’s replacement or something similar. If I do the work my self, how much should I expect to spend on the shocks?
