Hi everyone, haven't been here in awhile. Baby on the way, modem down at home, etc. Putting new rear calipers on bro's 77 and noticed that (half shaft?) on passenger side looks like it can slide in and out. Not sure of the best way to describe this, hopefully someone will understand what I am talking about and know what I should do about it. Thanks, hopefully I will be able to visit site more again.

Hate to speculate on bad news, but it sounds like a worn side yoke, or the clip is missing on the side yoke on the rear differential. Been there, done that last year.

sounds like the clip is off on the inside of the rear unit......time to pull the rear cover..........Ive been there....trust me....I know the sinking feeling in your stomach.....like oh man........

Anyone know what this entails...or (gulp) the price on fixing it?

If it's just a broken c-clip and you do all the work yourself, maybe $20 for everything. If you give it to a garage and they find that the diff is trashed, easily $1000 plus.

You won't really know until you open it to see.
