Shifting an Automatic????

I've heard a few guys talking about shifting thier auto, what are you guys talking about, ie. using 1|2|D|OD

yea, thats what i do just throw it into 1 and go.

I wouldn't do it all the time, but on a very few occasions while cruising next to a stang i have moved the gear selector into low 1 to get the grumble out of the exhaust. Obviously i was going under 25 mph. I have also on occasion used the gear selector in hard acceleration situations.
