1996 red coupe lt4 manual 6 speed
C4 1996 LT4 manual first real drive on hwy on saturday at arround 75 mph and in 6th gear I thought the engine was missing so droped down to 5th same problem then thought it was just labouring.
What are the recomended cruise speedsa for 4 th 5th and 6th gear. Trying to be conservative on gas at that time

Maybe you actually have a miss. You might want to check it out.You should be able to run at 60 in 6th with no problem
Under any load I don't like to run under 50 in 6th. I think it is counter productive on economy. Usually not under 40 in 5th.
Mostly I start in first gear. skip to third and then to 6th.
When slowing for a corner etc. I go to second then 4th then 6th.
The 5.7 has plenty of power to get you there plenty quick that way . Changing gears to much is also counterproductive for economy.
Yours is and LT mine is an L98 so a little ajustment from there will come with experience .
Now if your just out there for the fun,,,, then you have to run it up to 90 through all the gears each time..;)

Start by isolating the cylinder that has the misfire. D/C plug wires one at a time (with caution) until there is no change in the idle. Then investigate the condition of the spark plug, compression test the cyl and the cyl next door,, and check for fuel. Could be as simple as a fouled plug or a bad injector(common). Worst case scenario...bad valve or cam lobe.(not very common)

There should be no stumble or mis even if lugged down a little....it should still pull smoothly upward into higher revs.
