This is probably a dumb question.I purchased a 2002 six speed .When I start out at a certain mph I cannot shift to 2nd gear it goes right to 4th is there a way around this ? The book doesnt say a lot about it. Im usewd to my 81 4 speed. Thanks

You can buy a device to defeat the CAGS system from most of the Corvette aftermarket suppliers. Here is one from Mid American.

If you buy one, Tammy has written a very fine thread on installation. I can find it for you.

Install a CAGS bypass for $20.00. The light in the dash will still come on, but you will be able to shift into second gear when you want to.

You've been "CAGGED". Get the CAGS bypass and it will never happen again.

I think that the CAGS system was designed into the Corvette to aid in the EPA fuel milage tests. Corvette does not require us to pay the gas guzzler tax.
