I have several books on C3 corvettes and one lists the weights as shipping weight which is lighter than the book that gives curb weight. What is the difference and are either going to tell me what a car weighs without a driver and without gas?

Shipping weight included two gallons of gas in the tank. It's my understanding, curb weight includes a full tank of fuel and without a driver.

Curb weight could vary, but 3200 to 3500 lbs will you get in the neighborhood for a C3.

For '73, and I would assume it would be basicly the same for other years, they defined it this way:
Shipping Weight: Weight of basic vehicle with regular equipment, including grease, oil, engine coolant to capacity and (4) gallons of gasoline.
Curb Weight: Shipping weight plus gasoline to capacity.

So only difference is the amount of gas.
