How long do the stock shocks usually last on a LT1? My 96 vette has about 64K milles. I has started to feel a bit more soft than it did but it doesn't bounce or anything like a car that obviously has bad shocks.

I have the FE1 base suspension also. Idaho Slim, does your car have the FE1 suspension also?I suspect detecting worn shocks can be a tad tricky as declining shock performance can 'creep up on you' over the years. I'll 'WAG' at anywhere from 50 to 80k ? If any 1 shock shows signs of leaking - that would definately precipitate a full set for me.
I see a lot of references for the KYBs as popular replacements? I'm curious how a new set of KYBs compare to a new set of OEM Billsteins on an FE1 since they should be properly matched for the suspension 'package'. I always planned on sticking w/ the OEMs but the many KYB posts have me curious.
