I am planning on replacing my shocks on my 68' starting with the rear. Any suggestions on brand/type etc. I cant spend the big bucks so I'm looking for a good quality shock that will last without braking the bank.

I assume that this is not your daily driver and occasional use plus you don't do much road racing .If I'm correct I'd go to NAPA ,Pep boys or other auto parts store and get something similar to original equipment .Probably $25 bucks each and they will last you 20 years or so .I drove my 69 280,000 miles and I think I only had two sets of shocks and yes half the miles we're on Florida roads .:)

I am in the process of restoration. I will be driving it around for pleasure. No racing is planned though some nice handling potential is desired. I have an old pair on this car thats rusted and probably 30 years old at least. They may be still fine (cars been in storage for years) but while I have the tires off servicing the brakes I figured I'd change them out.

Tire Rack has a good section on shock options ,good guide .Good luck on the restoration my 69 was my first and last restoration .
