I need to replace the electric motors in my side view mirrors. My question is how do you remove the pin connectors?

what do the connectors look like? Round pin?, flat blade type pin? A picture or more info, please.

I posted a picture. Thanks in advance for your help

Sorry it took so long to get back--

the removal tool is a tube that just fits over the pins. Find a hobby shop that sells brass tube for model railroad guys. The tube you want is just barely over the size of the pin. You'll need to figure out how to measure the pins.

There's a store near you "Aircraft Spruce" look them up- they might have the correct tool. It's used for aircraft radio work- but that won't be as cheap as a brass tube.

to remove, just slide the tube over the pin- you'll feel the pins compress. I'll see if I can find a picture of a pin by itself in my Boeing book.

Hi Tim,

No worries. Thanks for taking the time to research this for me. I greatly appreciate your efforts.

Marc

This is NOT EXACTLY your connector, but they're close enough you can see how they work.

Hey Tim,

I went to a model train store to check out the brass tubing. Unfortunatley the tube were too large or too small. I was thinking about going to a place where they buy and sell corvettes like Coast Corvette or Corvette Mike. What are your thoughts. Where else would they have a variety of different size tubes?

Marc

Might try an electronics store like Radio Shack.

Went to an aviation electronics repair company near where I live. They had the tool and within a matter of seconds the connectors were removed. They were very friendly and helpful.
