DETROIT – The new 2011 Sierra Denali 3500HD and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD took top honors in their respective segments of PickupTrucks.com’s Heavy-Duty Shootout, beating their competitors from Ford and Dodge.
There were strong accolades for both vehicles from Mike Levine, founder of PickupTrucks.com in the website’s release.
“We could tow with a Sierra Denali all day long and feel as confident driving it as it looks good on the road. This amazing truck took the top spot in four of six power contests and was close behind in two more,” he said following a series of comprehensive tests that included loaded and unloaded:
> Quarter mile drag runs
> 7 percent grade and 16 percent grade hill climbs
> Brake tests, fuel economy and ride and handling testing.
“The Chevy’s combination of the powerful Duramax diesel, all-new frame and suspension and excellent fuel economy put it ahead of the Ford and Ram trucks,” Levine said.
