Silverstar Headlights

After some research, I recently bought a pair of Sylvania SilverStar headlights for my '89 (Pep Boys had them for $20 a light). They are advertised as the whitest and brightest halogens you can get, 100% street legal etc. Before I unbox and try them, I was thinking I would ask if anyone has tried them? Do they use more power?
