So after i fixed my broken hood wires i noticed that the holes where the hood latches under the hood was full of water. Is this a common problem or is there some sort of drain where it should be draining? I looked around but couldnt see anything. Both sides were full of water!!! Any input?? Thanks!

It's a common problem; I used to vacuum it dry. The fix is to drill a hole in the bottom of the latch bracket to allow the water to drain.

Same thing is true for the hatch seal where it makes a 90 degree corner going up parallel to the driver & passanger doors. My seal has a gap now in that corner. Is there a way to glue it back to its original shape???

Hi Guys, If you go to the ZR-1netRegistry home page and click on "maintenence" in the left side menue, then "common issues" there is a factory TSB about the situation. Drilling holes is what they say to do in the bottom of the sockets.

A better solution, if your against making extra holes in your car, maybe to replace the weather strip seal at the base of the windshield. Just a suggestion.

thanks alot guys. I never even thought about drilling holes in it. That would work, Thanks.

I would drill any holes in the latch brakets. I think the passenger side one already has a hole in it but the driver's side at least in my '92 does not. I was going to drill a hole in it and before I did I noticed that the water might run down on top of my battery and assorted wires.

Take a look and see where the water will go when you drill a hole. I use my shop vac.

The one on my drives side was filled with rubber sealant and I thought that might be factory done. I didn't want to remove the rubber sealant because I thought the water might run through the firewall into the car.

You're right...it drains on the wires. I drilled a hole and diverted the water with a old piece of rubber roofing. Passenger side didn't matter....problem solved.:beer
