I'm trying assist a friend regarding claims about the Sledgehammer......his comments:
"Alright this LCDR I work with claims to have some form of a "callaway sledgehammer corvette LT5". I know that the "callaway sledgehammer corvette" exists and the LT5 but I cant find a correlation to what he is saying. He claims the LT5 has dual overhead cams?? And the car runs in the 10s in the 1/4 with no power adder??? So just seeing what all you guys know about this mysterious car. Cant remember what year it is either but want to say between 1988-1995. I know the 1988 callaway corvette is a beast but that is twin turboed I believe so that doesnt fit with what he is talking about. Thanks."

another question was posed, too, asking is it a LT5 or L98?

TIA for your assistance

Is there a way you could get a pic of his car - out of curiousity, I'd like to see what they have there :confused

...in the meantime, here is the Callaway Sledgehammer Story Link :cool It has everything you would want to know :cool

There is, and only will ever be one 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer :upthumbs

I hope this helps :v :m

I suspect once the pic question comes up, that everyone will scatter :L.....great article, and thanks for your help!

Did this thread get chopped in the upgrade or something?

Callaway did perform their SuperNatural packages on ZR-1's, so it's possible they are just confusing "SuperNatural" with "Sledgehammer". I don't believe one would run 10's without a lot more work, though.

The LT5 does have dual overhead cams.

I can't remember how many times I have heard of Callaway Twin Turbo's referred to as "Sledgehammers"...

The "B2K" RPO option corvettes are all L98's though there were at least 2 Twin Turbo LT5's.

There were 3 Callaway Twin Turbo LT5's made . 2 Super speedsters (1 LM carbon fiber body 1Wide body Aerobody speedster) and 1 stock bodied ZR1
