I'm in the process of rebuilding my Muncie M21. I have the new rear bushing pressed into the tail housing and was trying to decide whether to buy another yoke or not. I checked the fit by sliding the yoke into the tail housing and wiggled it around. Seems like it has quite a lot of slop to me. The back end of the yoke probably has about 1/8 inch of side to side movement in it or more. Anybody know how the play (or slop) in the yoke bushing is measured and how much is allowable?

thanks

Usually a slip yoke will wear in a oval pattern. You can see the wear when its really bad.You can measure the with calipers, if you cant see it.If you find any out of round wear, replace it,It could be the cause of vibration at certain RPM's after you get back up and running.
