Yup, was my first new car. 1962 Valiant... black with red interior and the ever popular slant 6. Even had the push button trans. (my dad talked me into it). After a year of wishing I had bought a Chevy instead, I added an Offenhauser manifold with a Pontiac 4 bbl AFB and a 391 rear end, jacked up the front torsion bars, etc. Managed to get it down to a 13 mpg average but at $0.29 per gallon who cared. Actually it was a blast for mountain driving but all my buddies kicked my butt with their V8's.

Oh yeah, Ignorded dad's advice from that day on and traded it in on a 65' 426 Plymouth Satellite and have never bought anything but the biggest engined car I can afford since. Hope I never grow up and I live long enough to enjoy at least one more muscle car era.
