I got a sneaky ride in around the neighbourhood today. About 50 F. and it felt great. Z28Canuck and I have been working on getting the final trim and interior pieces on the car.
The sun was shining, the air was warm and the streets are fairly clean of winter's nastiness.
The 502 hasn't fired in two months. Turned the key part way on to the get the electric pump to fill the bowls.....then key full on and :blow she leaped to life.
All up and down the streets of our neighbourhood, folks were hanging on the front porch and lawns waiting on Easter Dinner. I took it upon myself to provide some local flavour and entertainment for my neighbours' guests.
I never got it over 25mph in first gear............with the Richmond 5-speed whining like an old M-22; the sidemount Hookers growling and snorting, there was no need for speed. At each stop sign, the blipping on the loud pedal to make sure she wouldn't stall before the choke got warm enough, reminded me of trying to keep it running in the pits.
Did I mention I was in Heaven today? From the number of waves and hi-fives I got, I think the locals were in Heaven with me. The Mrs. ran out on the road to flag me down in mid-run and insisted she ride shotgun.
C'mon Bowling Green!
