I got a sneaky ride in around the neighbourhood today. About 50 F. and it felt great. Z28Canuck and I have been working on getting the final trim and interior pieces on the car.

The sun was shining, the air was warm and the streets are fairly clean of winter's nastiness.

The 502 hasn't fired in two months. Turned the key part way on to the get the electric pump to fill the bowls.....then key full on and :blow she leaped to life.

All up and down the streets of our neighbourhood, folks were hanging on the front porch and lawns waiting on Easter Dinner. I took it upon myself to provide some local flavour and entertainment for my neighbours' guests.

I never got it over 25mph in first gear............with the Richmond 5-speed whining like an old M-22; the sidemount Hookers growling and snorting, there was no need for speed. At each stop sign, the blipping on the loud pedal to make sure she wouldn't stall before the choke got warm enough, reminded me of trying to keep it running in the pits.

Did I mention I was in Heaven today? From the number of waves and hi-fives I got, I think the locals were in Heaven with me. The Mrs. ran out on the road to flag me down in mid-run and insisted she ride shotgun.

:D C'mon Bowling Green!

I bet you got some looks with that beauty. I was able to get out in my ride today too. About the same temp 53 degrees, went to the car wash, cleaned her up a little. Saw quite a few other nice rides out today too.

Now that's the way to celebrate Easter... in 67Heaven!!

Heard the rumble, felt the ground shake and then saw your garage door was open. I knew you couldn't wait much longer;LOL . Like anyone can blame you! :lou

That's great Bob. :lou Can't wait to see the car at Bowling Green.

Not so nice for driving here. My rain bucket picket up 3 - 4 inches yesterday. Supposed to be 75 tomorrow and I'm off. :cool

Read your post ...and I'm Jealous....Still a litle chilly here... Plus when I went to the GRee-Rage..and saw my 502 sitten in the chassis...I realized ..I ain't gonen riden for a while....:(

Thats great Bob, there was alot of thinking done around here yesterday about the same type of drive, there just hasn't been any rain around here since the weather broke, and there is still salt all over the road, glad you got in an early drive.

OK its official. Spring is here. 67 Heaven has come out of hibernation. Gentlemen, start your engines. :)

Bob,

I was thinkin the same thing! After a little tuning and some fresh seat belts.... The ground thundered in Chicagoland as well, although with slightly less compression.

I love the looks and waves... it really is different when they can hear you coming. Sometimes you get a smile and a wave, other times you get the "I just soiled myself" look of disbeleif, and then there is the scorn of people who just don't get it. By far, my favorite is the people who can't wave with all 5 fingers. I think they have something in their hand... like a cell phone... that only permits them to wave with one finger!

I doubt that I will ever make it to Canada. I may have to make the special trip to BG just to see it in person. The pics and video's of it are awesome enough !

I just added another item to the ever-growing list of things to pack for Bowling Green.

The Video Cam!

I just cannot WAIT to see that car. Oh yeah, it will be nice to meet you too, Bob :L :L
