Soft Top Rear Bow Stay Cable

Does anyone know about this on the soft top(Soft Top Rear Bow Stay Cable), is it needed? and where is it located? Also does anyone know on my 73 the rear latch on drivers side is hard to unlatch is there an adjustment. Any help on these.

There are a pair of the cables; one on each side. If memory serves they provide tension for the top material. Use them.

Sticky latch could be rod adjustment. The assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows the decklid hardware.

You may have to unscrew the pins on the top a couple of turns to get it to unlatch easier. Then when you pull the handle to unlatch the top you can push down on the top then lift it up.
