Solid Axel Registry

Very interesting Ray. How many 61 registeries are there? or is this the only one you know of?

Originally '61 was omitted from the C1 site in deference to the other site mentioned. It's my understanding that the Chebultz site is no longer being maintained, so Rob added '61 to the main C1 site...

I believe there is only two, and I like the one set up by Rob.

Got in touch with the owner of my old 57' and shared some info I had. Thats a pretty cool way to track the cars. Also found out it might be for sale hmmmmm I might need an extra bay in my garage. That car is near and dear to my heart.

Hope I'm not offending you 61 guys with my 57' talk :D
I can not speak for the others, but I really enjoy any story about Corvettes. I bought a 62 in 1968, I was 18. I wish I had kept the VIN #; I would love to track down that car. Keep us informed on your quest for the 57.

Ray, I know what you mean. I'd love to track down my father's old Vette but we no longer have any paperwork left on the car for the VIN# for me to track it down. His car was "only" a '79 but like all of us here it had been his dream his whole life to own a Vette and he was only able to get one after he got sick in '79. Unfortunately he was only able to enjoy the car and his dream for less than a year but I guess the other side of it is that even for that short period of time he WAS able to enjoy finally having his dream come true before he passed away.
I really wish we had something left with the VIN # so I could track the car down and maybe buy it as it holds special sentimental value more than the value of the car itself but I guess it will just always be a "lost" car to us.

Great story Barry! Good luck in finding your 79.

SACC Convention.

The Solid Axel Corvette Club will be holding their convention in Harrisburg in August, a couple days before Corvette @ Carlisle PA. Does anyone plan on attending?
