Sometimes I'm just blown away by people's opinions...

Most of you are aware of my ongoing engine project, and of my attempts to quiet the side exhaust system I was running at the time, of which, as you probably also are well aware, I abandoned to return to an under-car 3" dual system.

Now I find that throughout the entire time I was trying to quiet the beast, mostly because I did not want to disturb my neighbors, unbeknownst to me was the fact that some of my neighbors liked it (I did have one complaint when I first got the new engine running: "Would you please not do that." -- I was revving it up for another neighbor.) :gap

Well as it turns out, I was talking with one of the oldest residents on the block yesterday and he asked why I got rid of the side exhaust system. He liked the looks, but more importantly (to me) he liked (loved!) the sound. He just turned seventy years on his clock this past week. Cool, eh? :cool

Perhaps I should rethink my exhaust again? :L

Funny how some things just don't turn out the way you expect.

Years back when I was flying jets for the Air Force, I started talking with a guy in the local mall. Seems he was retired and fished regularly on a lake that my squadron flew over regularly. I was getting ready for the inevitable noise complaint when he said he loved hearing the jet noise. He said it made the fish bite and could we come by more often!

Hard to figure what people like and dislike - even after you find out, they can change their mind.

You never can tell what some people will like or not.
I love the sound of auto performance.
Almost better than the sound is the smell. (rubber and fuel)

I wholeheartedly agree! I love the smell of NITRO in the morning! (or afternoon, or evening, or...)
