My spare tire is dry rotted so I searched the internet for a replacement size that would fit my rim. One of the suggested sizes I found was P205/75/15. So I purchased one via Discount tire direct (online) and it just arrived. Now looking at my old tire and rim, what I have is a T155/80D16 on a steel rim stamped 16x4. Now my thoughts are that this is not the original spare rim that came with the car, and the 15 inch new tire I just purchased is not gonna fit on this rim when I take it to a tire shop. In some small way I'm still hoping this tires gonna fit but not optimistic. If not, should I just search around at a local junk yard and pick up a 15" chevy wheel? What model would be a good sub? All suggestions welcomed. Thanks!

is this an oem spare or one that some one replaced the oem one with????
What size is on your vette??? if its a 15 inch find a local junk yard and see if you get a Chevy
rim that fits your corvette and use it.
I'm willing to bet that most of the 5 lug rims will probably fit your vette but they should be able to tell you for sure

Well up until today I 'assumed' it was the original, but I'm not the original owner to say for certain. The wheel fits the Vette and can be used if necessary. It even has the words "Temporary Use Only" on the tire. I just never looked close at the actual size until now!

Your car originally came with with a space-saver Goodyear Polyspare tire sized at P195/80D15. The P205/75/15 tire you inadvertently ordered is not correct nor is the 16" assembly somebody left with the car before you bought it.

I'd be reluctant to buy any old wheel from a junkyard as most would interfere with the brake caliper due to incorrect offset.

Purchase an AZ 15x8 ralley wheel (original or reproduction, your choice); install a 205-70R-15 tire for use as the spare. A 75 series tire might fit in the tub, but it will be a little taller than a 70 series tire. 70 series will fit without problems.

If your existing space saver tire and rim are 16", neither is stock.
