So I think it's been about 6 months since I got my spec clutch installed by a professional shop. Following the install, the trans was rattling- and it wasn't the rattle that you guys generally attribute to switching out a Dual mass flywheel for a single as I did (along with the new clutch). The trans will likely have to be replaced but has continued operating correctly (though noisily) all this time- but that is another matter altogether at this point.
I contacted both the shop and spec clutch after the initial install to report both the rattle and the unmistakeable burning clutch smell so frequently detectable- yet things continued operating and I was left in the unfortunate position of having spec blame the mechanics and the mechanics blaming spec- so here I am about 6 months later with a clutch that feels like its just about done for, and I've tried to contact Spec again but to no avail. Their number greeting says that "Star Clutch"'s mailbox is full, so nobody answers, and I can't even leave a message. I believe I also email'ed them but so far nothing. This isn't looking good.
Has anyone been in contact with Spec lately? I don't have the paperwork handy- and the first question I was going to ask was re: the warranty. Anyone know what their standard warranty would be a for a clutch/flywheel on a '92 Lt1 convertible? Sorry I have to ask here, but it's all I have left!
Somebody give me some good news!! please!! :confused
thanks!
