The speedometer in my car only goes to 80 mph. The one in my 2500 HD Silverado has100mph.To me thats not good. Is there a replacement for the the 80 mph? Maybe I'm weird but this really bugs me.

Here ya go.. got this from the Search Feature at the top of the page ;)

140 mph Speedo

Bud

I'd use the link that Bud posted. As for Corvette Clocks by Roger, I recently met him and he's a first class buttwad with no manners, too bad there were witnesses around :mad

Heres the cheapest i found, i did and love it, looks stock @ 140mph.......

www.redlineg.com

56$ and just send your weak 85mph back........ i know a few people on here have done it though him..... simple as ever......... and the guy that works there...... not a "first class buttwad" ;) just first class....... Good luck......

Tony

Scott,
Thanks for the warning!
I only talked to some woman on the phone.....maybe she's the only one with manners!

Post your Shark Tank site address for me please...need the shirt!

Cee

Cee,

Here's the site; http://www.c3sharktank.com/ link to the store is near the bottom left.

I hope nobody takes what I said about Roger wrong, he may have nice items and do good work. BUT....when I met him at a show recently and asked him a question I was rudely cut off with a resounding NO, he wouldn't even let me finish the question. What I was asking of him would have cost him nothing other than showing a slight bit of courtesy, then later when I calmed down and tried to talk to him about it he was even ruder. If there had been nobody around I think I would have lost my temper, I really hate people with no manners like that. He is simply a rude crabby old jerk, and I heard that from a number of people at the show as they walked past my table.

Tony- thanks for the link, if that's who everyone else here has used for their 140 conversions I think I'll be sending mine soon.

That guy at RedLine is very polite and helpful. I got my speedo from him and I am very pleased, especially for $57. I highly recommend RedLine. The 1st speedo he sent me did not work correctly,he sent another one out asap,no questions asked.

I need bigger

Anybody now of a bigger speedometer like a 180mph for my 80?

I have a 165mph one in my 80 vette. I was thinking about getting an original 80mph one. Does anybody know where I can get one?
Steve

I'm not sure I'm going to change it. I would just like to have an original one. My car is about 95% original and the speedo is one of things I'm missing. The only other thing I need is the L48 intake. Do you know what the part number is for the intake?

The current GM part number is 14057056. Not sure what the casting number is. BTW current retail price $526 wholesale $395.
You could probably find one on ebay or corvette swap meet for real cheap. Its just a stock cast iron manifold.

Dave

Dave,
Are you sure about that intake? The 1980 spec sheet I have says:
Aluminum intake was standard for all 1980's.
Steve

Steve - Now that you brought that up,You may be right. Thats probably why it's so expensive. I know all the 81's were aluminum. I thought the L48 used cast iron in 80. Sorry,Steve !!

Dave

Dave,
No problem. I guess its a good question to ask everyone. I know someone in CAC will know.
Steve

240 mph speedo 78-82

i just received my 240 mph speedometer back, and i am loving it. best of all the new guys with the C5s only go to 200 mph, and of course the poor fellows with the digital C4s can't show off. i am really pleased, and the whole process took less than two hours (r&r) and cost less than $100.00. complete report at this link including pictures.http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=23641
