Had a blast today with Ken --aka Bro_Ken today.

We did some tweaking on his freaky 400+ cid miniram monster.

I will leave it to him to share the final dyno numbers as he pleases. Very respectable power and torque. We are hoping to hit the Gainesville 1/4 mile drags on Saturday night with both cars.

Waiting for round #4

I think we did 5 or 6 pulls. We let it cool down in between. We stopped the engine to change the timing and fuel pressure. Short of any computer reprograms, those are really the only things you can adjust on these motors. Upping the timing made a 50 hp increase!

Speedcraft

This is the spot we did the dyno. Very nice folks. It was $125 for an hour including a air/fuel meter reading. This was very helpful inconjunction with my scanner watching the overall fuel curve needs of the motor. I sat in the passenger seat holding the scanner looking for spark knock and O2 mv while Todd (owner of Speedcraft did the throttle hammering. All Ken could do is wait in anticipation.

Cooling down

Outside, we let the car cool down while Ken paid the bill and we headed home.

AFter getting back to the house we re-adjusted the roller rockers, re-wrapped/routed some wires, and just had a good time talking gear head stuff!

East meets West Coast (miniram Vettes)

Here is a shot you won't see that often. We have Ken's Z51 monster from California, and my 90 polo green miniram mini me of Ken's car together in my shop.

How schweeeeeeeet it is!

Way cool dudes! Glad to see you guys got it started:upthumbs, wish I could've heard it:(.

Wow!

Nice.... :)

So where are the mysterious HP/torque results from all of this day-long fun and adventure?

Share and share alike, my friends.... :)

Congrats!

Since this is Ken's project, I will leave it up to him to describe all the final numbers. Since he is traveling around and does not have a lap top, he has to log on when he can from other areas. I imagine he will log on my computer tonight. Maybe he will share, maybe he won't.

There is one thing I can tell you. Although beyond cool looking and sounding, the side effects exhaust does not promote additional hp and torque. It is very restrictive, and once I was able to see if from the underside, I was able to determine it is like welding an extra six feet of exhaust pipe behind your stock C4 exhaust. In Ken's case, he has added every baffle and fiberglass pack he can to keep it quiet. I will bet you that a new exhaust system will be in the works for the 400 plus cid beast in the near future and another dyno run out in California!

Offer of Hospitality......

Hello All !:w
I would like to open my Hacienda to Bro_Ken if he is going to be traveling I-10 through Pensacola, FL. I am home on temporary duty, and it would be awesome to meet such a "Famous" CAC member. Dare I say, "Legendary" ?? I am approximately 6 hours from J-Ville, so if Bro_Ken, or any CAC members are in the area, my Casa is your Casa... Plus there are a few unique vette landmarks here that are worth a few moments of time spent visiting ! My home phone is (850) 968-9503, or Cell (850) 982-4742, if just a quick meal and rest stop are all that any one has time for ! Chris, you and Ken try not to have too much fun down there, Ya Hear?

Oh, a wise guy eh? Nyuk, nyuk. :L

You do know that I'm trailering it don't you Len? By the way, where were you when we were at Bowling Green? I thought you were coming to the Labor Day festivities. :confused

346.2 horsepower @ 6000 rpm, 363 lbs-ft of torque at around 4100 rpm. It'll get better, I promise. ;)

Thanks Steve, I'll be talkin' at ya. :D

This has been a very nice road trip so far, and it appears to be a good week coming up too. Am I having fun or what? :J

_ken :w

Ken, not sure if your travels will bring you anywhere near DC or Baltimore, but you're welcome to join us Bawlmer locals (Sothpaw, Mad Mic, me, several others) for beer and breeze-shooting...

Those dyno results are at the wheels, right? Not the crank?

Chris and Ken,

You guys are having too much fun. I assume the starter bolt hole is fixed. So Ken; now that it is dialed in does it feel stronger than it did on that last white kuckle ride I took in it?

Tom

Chris,

With the dyno nearby, have you put killer to the test again since BG?

How about the 90, I haven't seen a post from you about any dyno time with that mini-monster.

I think I've found a chassi dyno about 2 hours from me that I'll be visiting soon, with a follow-up visit in the spring after I finally install a set of headers. This will document how much of an increase headers really supply.

Rick

Yep, I will eventually get both Killer and What's its name (the 90) on there. No hurry right now as the clutch is out of the 90, and the 69 is just collecting some dust while I reprioritize my life, so to speak.

Numbers will come soon though!

Ken - You have to get a chip for that set-up. Youv'e got well over 400 at the rear wheels. Gotta get it tuned.

Sounds like you guys had a blast.:D

I have faith that your best will get over 400hp Ken.

If you have any plans to swing into the Pacific Norhtwest let me know, it would be great to meet up with you.

Jason
