Hi all,

I have an 81 corvette with electronic sport mirrors operated form the center console, that do not move. I had the local shop do an electric test on it, and they tell me that power is leaving the switch, so they thought the motors in both mirros were bad.

Could it be something as simple as a fuse burnt out? If so, which fuse would it be, as I do not see one in the manual I have.

If it is the mirror motors, is that hard to replace, and where would you get the parts?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Heres an idea...

Few months ago all my power windows in my Jeep died...at the same time. I had power at the fuse box and wires, but no switch. Took it to an auto electric specialist and he told me that he could look at it but its probably in the wires that go from the kick panels to the doors. When they get old they get brittle. and the spot that they constantly bend going to the door is the trouble spot. When i striped back the insulation I saw that 3 wires were broke. STriped them back...soldered them back together and re-wraped them. Worked like new. I would take a look at that spot considering the age of the vehicle and the wires always bending in that area.

I went back and gave the guy 20 bucks...money well spent

Thansk snk1994,

I will check that out.

Does anyone know which fuse it goes though in the panel? Could it be a fuse is blown and the power is not getting to the mirror motor also?
