I have a 2003 Conv. with 17000 miles. Recently, I've heard a squeak that sounds like it is coming from the exhaust. It happens over small bumps. I tried hitting the muffler with my hand; I can make it make that same squeak. So it seems that something in the exhaust system squeaks when it is moved. Any fixes on this? Thanks Tom200V

HI there,
It could be the support hangers that are causing the noise.
That has been seen before.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like you have a good answer to my squeak. I'll get it in the air and let you know what I find. Thanks for the help. Tom

A C-5 question, this?

I recommend moving this to the C-5 forum dear moderator.

Hey, Thanks! My brother has a shop, so I took it to him. We put the car up on the lift. I hit the muffler with my hand and he listened. Sure enough, it was the "H" hanger on the exhaust. It has 2 springs. Each spring is really a spring within a spring, or maybe a double coil. At any rate, a little grease on the coils where the rubbed against each other stopped the squeak. If and when it comes back, I now know the fix. Thanks for your help! That was a good diagnosis right over the computer. Tom
