Having just recently purchased my first Corvette, a 67 Coupe, how can I tell if I have a stainless steel brake upgrade. The brakes are very heavy, but I can lock them up. No power assist!

I'm not an expert, but if your brakes work on a 35 year old car, you have the upgrade. The symptom was refusal to engage and/or disengage, usually not the same from caliper to caliper, so you also had pull problems.

As to the "heavy" feel, my old Shelby has unpowered disks also, and they are heavy, but quite good. Your car is not that much heavier, so you should enjoy the brakes. I really like the control you have with the unpowered brakes.
