Stalled without warning....

On my way home sitting in traffic the Service ASR light came on. I turned off the car (thinking it may have been a fluke or maybe it would reset it) and tried to restart the car. It would not restart. It would turn over, run for a split second then cut off. It did that several times, never running consistently.....

Any ideas on what that could be....

Sounds like a fuel pump problem.

You know.... you are probably right.... the car has 150k on it and I doubt the fuel pump has ever been replaced...... the Service ASR light threw me, cause I was wondering what would cause that to pop on....

Update.......

It wasn't the fuel pump, it was the computer. Seems that when the car sat in the hot sun for a while the computer would not function. They kept the car over the weekend, it started yesterday, and today with no problem, and they told me they could not duplicate the problem. I went to pick it up and right there in the lot, it would not start. They hooked up the diagnostics and couldn't get a reading from the computer at all.

The mechanic whacked the computer, it started for a second and then cut off. Still no readings from the computer.... Anyway they are ordering another one (234.00) and it should be ready sometime tomorrow....

Dang computers! Why couldn't they just keep them for video games as nature intended?

Aren't you glad it happened there, instead of halfway home?

come on cla... how about moving to the early C3's that don't have computers- then you wont have this kind of problem.

I thought about a C3.... seriously considered one... but I do like the gas mileage as well as the horsepower....
