I have the standard cloth stock seats with the Dr. side power controls in the console. Is it possible to put Sport seats in and make all the controls work? If so how much trouble is the electrical retrofit proceedure?

If this is reasonably feasable can anyone tell me exactly what each set of controls does on each side of the seat? Thanks for any help or suggestions :beer

I would think they just fit right in...I doubt if they would put in a different wire harness for a sports seat. If nothing else...you get a TTT out of my answer

Well from my 86 owners book thing, with you in the seat facing foward:

The controls to your left are: (from bottom to top)

"Back Angle switch"
"Seat Back Side Bolster Switch"

then on your right: (from bottom to top)

Lumbar bleed lower
Lumbar bleed middle
Lumbar bleed upper

Lumbar Inflate switch

I can't help either but it is something I have wondered too !

I'm sure it is a bolt in job you just have to know what parts to locate.
I'll keep an eye on this thread

As long as you use the 84-93 sport seats it will work easily. The Passenger side power seat controls plug in between the current Driver side harness and the console harness, this is for the seat track. As for the lumbar and such of sport seats, you need to 84-93 sports seats since the lumbar and side bolster controls are on the seat itself.

The 94-96 sport controls are on the console and if you went that route you would need to do something custom.

Hope that helps

Thanks guys :_rock Jeff, I'm not sure I fully understand what you are saying as far as the electrical connections themselves. I don't have power on the Pass. side, and the contols are in the consle for the Dr. side. I guess I'll have to pull the Dr. seat and try to ID the elec. and compare it to the SS setup.

Then of course I could always consult my manual Duh :duh But then I can't meet anyone in there, besides how else can I get my post count to a respectable level :L :beer
