I just bought my corvette a week ago, and I must say I am now an ex-ford and a newly proud member introduced into the Chevy family. The gentleman before me took very good care of the vett. The only issue I have at this moment is the ignition of the car in the middle of the day. I have no issues starting her up in the morning and in the evenings, but in the middle of the day, when it has exposed to the Florida hot weather, she doesn't want to start up smoothly. It will either take several attempts, while pumping the gas to start the engine up, or she will stall out once on the road. I quickly figured out the only way to start her and get her going is by raising the hood to allow some fresh air in, she starts up smoothly. The fan in working, her fluids were all up dated and flushed. The only thing I can think of is the engine, for some reason is not receiving enough cold air. Is this a problem any one is aware of and can help with some suggestion?

The hot air under the hood will help the fuel atomize, not hurt, so that's not the issue. You may have a fuel supply issue. Do you know if anyone may have replaced the original fuel pump with an incorrect 2 port unit?

If she is hard to start after reaching operating temperature, it's heat soak. Check the stock shielding for the starter and starter solenoid. Also check for a possible exhaust leak in the area of the starter.

:)

is this happening from a cold start or after the car has been driven for a while? maybe something to do with the electric choke.
