I am glad i found this forum with a great knowledge base we can help each other . I have not seen this problem posted yet but will make sure I follow thru with this post so the next poor sole who has this problem has a chance or a clue cause I dont. 2001 vette started stalling while driving for no apparent reason cruizing down the road 50 klm /hr boom engine shuts off. This happened sporattically 3 times then recently while shuffling cars in driveway decided not to start at all. If I wait at least an hour It will start and drive for 5-10 min at a time then cuts out. It will crank fine but not refire made sure battery voltage is above 12.5 ,fuel presure at 57psi , NO CODES set, new plugs and wires, fuel pump jumpered runs ok, OTC Gynesis connects ok with no codes . Yet the when it decides too it will start ,idle and run perfectly for five to ten minutes and then shut off by itself and not restart unless it sits for 1 hr. With no codes set at all either in history or current I am baffed by the fact there are no codes yet it shuts down on its own.Tried new key with new chip same deal. Tried unpluging MAF just sets a code and does same thing. I have not taken a car to Mechanic in 16 years cause I enjoy solving myself like you, but i am getting close now, any Ideas ? AHHHHHHH Thanks

There was a similar problem in another post a while back. His problem ended up being an emission control thing. Hopefully a more knowledgable member will give more details.

:ughthanks i looked around but did not find the exact issues most were related to steering lock

as promised her is answer ...so I broke down and towed it to the closest GM Dealer $90 for 4 miles he could not communicate with ECM using the Tech 2 tool.:ohnoes Sooo they checked output from crank sensor.it was ok they reccomended replacing the ECM $300.00 I said go ahead as it showed signs of corrosion from overcharging battery (how about a solid tray or one that directs possible spils away from poorly sealed ECM not on top of it). They then had a bunch of codes come up and it is still not working right so the service manager got involved and with consultation from GM help line they tracked it to some heat and corrosion damaged wires that ran near engine. apparently its all good now after replacing individual wires but took 10.5hrs labour and an ECM cant wait to get my bill for that:puke. It was possibly caused by corrosion or poor routing / sheilding of wires, I will post more info after I have conversation with mechanic.
