Question: Steering column swap

Looking to update a 73 to a tilt steering column! Is there any difference between the early C3 steering columns and one from a 78-82 vette? Thanks!

According to the GM parts book (circa 1981), the 69-75 were the same, then 76, 77, 78, & 79 (1st design) were all different. Then there was 79-82 (2nd design). Now the changes may have been insignificant but can't tell except they all had different P/Ns.

Chevrolet Corvette Chassis and Body Parts Catalog.

Somewhere around the late 80s, GM went to computer based parts lists, so quit the print version. I did see one on ebay the other day. They are handy for their exploded view diagrams that sometimes show things better than the AIM or Shop Manual.

I always had my parts man save the old ones when he got a new one.
