Quess what I did?
Started in on restoration.. I couldn't imagine that it would be a problem to jack up the front end at the side frame forward of the cross member to check things out. Placed a couple of jack stands high enough to get front 2 tires off the ground.
Both front tires hanging down and what do I see in the morning? All of the lube has drained out of the steering gear box.
I've never had this happen with any other vehicle I've had.
I'm going to need a rebuilt steering gear box and a lot of help on how to take it off, put on replacement and not have it happen again.
Where is the best place to get a "quality" part.?

Sure appreciate the help

Special thanks -- Rollin

Here the scoop

Tom, is the man you want to talk to, and you can click on the following link for his web site.
http://www.corvettesteering.com/.

He can do the labour, or supply you with the parts to do your own.

Chicken is best at a " chicken place, pizza at a Pizza parlour ", anything steering related, deserves a steering specialist.

Good luck with the car

Jacking up the car should not have any affect on the gear box. It should be full of grease, not oil. I'd look at the PS hoses or control valve for the leak if it appears to be fluid.
