Steering Wheel Dilemma

All, I ordered a new steering wheel from Corvette America the other day. Mainly because that humongus stock wheel makes it almost impossible for my 6'5" frame to get into and out of the drivers seat with the T-tops in. Well, it was supposed to be for the '73 but the grip rubbs on the turn signal lever. Do any of you know if there is a direct bolt on make for the '73 without tilt/telescopic steering column? I guess I could;

1. Bend an "Z" in the shaft to make it clear.

2. Cut the shaft down to clear the grip area.

3. Find a shorter stock shaft to clear the grip area (like the tilt lever on my '72 Cheyenne)

4. Get a Grant wheel and kit and not worry about looking that original

Any ideas?

Well, for anyone interested, I fixed the problem. Did a little bending of the lever and all is well. The new wheel looks great and my knee doesnt hurt as much getting in and out. I cant wait to drive it to see how the wheel feels. Later!
