2002 Torch Red Coupe
Hello folks, from suburban Chicago. I am looking at the steering wheel inserts sold by Cyberdine. They look great on their webpage and they run $24.99. I sent for one of the decals from Ecklers or Mid Am and was not happy with the quality and had a hard time getting it to stick. I have an 02 Torch Red coupe and would like to see some pictures from those of you out there that bought this product. Let's see those steering wheels. I know the quality of this product looks great but how about putting it on and is it going to stay on???? What color would you folks recommend for the interior of my Torch Red coupe?? Thanks for any input that you all might have.

GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!! :beer

There has been both praise and complaints about this product on Corvetteforum.com. Some people have had a problem with "color bleed" of the white area in the flags -- turning pink, etc. The other reported problem is that the flagpoles do not come down far enough to fully cover the raised area on the steering wheel. The satisfied customers seem very satisfied however. I have to admit, from the pix, they look to be OEM quality.

Maybe your best bet is to contact the company, tell them what you've heard, and ask them what they have done to address it, or what their return policy is if you are dissatisfied.

RJ and Bob,
Is there a link or picture you can provide to show those of us who haven't seen what you're describing what these inserts look like?

Thanks!

Cool- Thanks! :)

But isn't "Cyberdine" the name of the company that created the artificial intelligence which spawned "The Terminator"? :W :L

I ordered the Commemorative "package" from Cyberdine and they stuck fine. The color was excellent, but I know what you mean about the flag poles not coming down far enough on the steering wheel. All in all they were fine.

I find the key to any of these appliques is to clean the surface WELL with denatured alcohol......

I purchased a C5 steering wheel decal insert from Vette Essentials and I am VERY pleased with its quality and how it sticks to the cover. Follow the instructions EXACTLY, including cleaning well with alcohol and allowing the car to sit in the sun (top off or top down) after the decal is applied.

It is only $15.00 and includes shipping. You can view it here: http://www.vetteessentials.com/interior_products/decals.htm

Good luck.

Got the cheap decal....... looked terrible. Got the emblem for wheel that your asking about and it looks great. No regrets. Looks original. GM should have bought them from this company and put them on all C5's. Save the Wave.>George
