Hi All!
New here to CAC. I live in a suburb of Kansas City, on the Missouri side, and travel the world with my job as an aircraft maintenance inspector for a charter airline. I've got a 69 Convertible BB that I finally bought from the 2nd owner. He got it in '71. Was a next door neighbor, I've been around the thing since he got it. He turned 71 a while back and decided to sell it before his kids had to fight over it. Anyway, it's been thru a couple of engines, the original L-89 spun a main bearing and we put a L-88 in under warranty in '72. That one died in 74 when the cam broke. Now, it's a 454, but everything inside is either L-88, ZL-1, or LS-7. Aluminum heads and all. Real blast to drive, but it's not for the weak.
I spent a number of years working at GM dealers as a service tech, doing engine, rear ends and transmissions. Left that in 88 and started playing airplane.
