On the way to work this morning (driving my DSOM Z as usual), I was stopped at a light and happened to look over at the white Ford dually next to me. A young guy in the passenger seat was extending his middle finger at me with a completely serious look. I had done nothing to specifically annoy him--the traffic was moderate, and I hadn't crowded in or passed or anything.
Guess it was just jealousy--he was headed to work in a pickup and I was in a supercar. But it was a bit odd. Strange days, indeed. I just smiled back at him.

Strange days and strange people, indeed.

I was driving home from work one evening and 2 kids in a Rustang pulled alongside me on the interstate. They were in the passing lane, I was in the right lane with no other traffic around.

They paced me for several minutes, alternately jumping ahead and falling back trying to get me to race but I wouldn't cooperate.

Finally they both stuck their arms out the windows with the middle finger salute and sped off. :mad

It seems more and more that some folks sole purpose in life is to take up space and waste oxygen.

The poor guys is not happy with the way others are content and happy while he drives a Ford. Kinda like a Cub fan looking at a supporter of any other baseball team.:D

The weather here has been lousy for the last week. (Sorry to all you folks in the midwest, and now the northeast, I got that winter blast first.) So, the Corvette has been quietly sitting the garage for over a week now. But I have had a recent experience with those experiencing car envy on the road.

Two Sundays ago, I was coming back from Colorado Springs. The turn lane to get onto the on-ramp for I-25 is a double left. I got into the left most turn lane, and a brand spanking new Mustang, with temporary tags in the window, pulls into the lane next to me. I looked at the driver- he looked like he could have been anywhere from 21 to 25, and he was hyper-focused on the red light. I knew where this was headed...

We get the green arrow, and this guy nails it. He flies through the turn, gets past me as the on-ramp narrows to one lane and barrels onto the interstate... only to find himself stuck behind a slow moving 18-wheeler with no gaps in the fast lane for him to change lanes.

I, on the other hand, leisurely make my way onto the interstate, and find I have no problem getting in line behind all the cars passing the 18 wheeler. As I go past the Mustang, marooned in the right lane behind the big rig, it was only too obvious this guy was fuming mad.

I'm not an experienced lip reader, but even I could figure out which expletives were escaping his lips as his plan to show me up failed.
:D

Who would have ever thought 54 years ago, that 1 car could provoke so much jealousy!!! :beer
This quote brings back memories of when I 1st got my vette. Our mail man at the time was a very outgoing and personable guy. He used to pull up and bs for what seemed like an eternity on some days. But from the 1st time he saw me with the vette, he became a different guy. I remember saying to my wife I've noticed a "difference" in Tony since I got the vette. He doesn't talk to me anymore. He was just one example - there were MANY others unfortunately.
