Stronger Rear End for Drag Racing

I plan on taking my vette to the drags, and I need a rear end that can handle it, I was thinking of just doing Toms differentials 1480 Vette Axle kit. Im open for suggestions on beefing the rear end up?

First, welcome aboard CAC! Nice lookin' ride.

That's alotta HP ... if you do get it all to hook up you'll be buying another rear gear etc anyway. Before you sling rear bits 'n pieces through the fenders ... Suggest Ford 9" straight axle or the MUCH more expensive Dutchman IRS that uses Ford 9" center section.

Some KB pistons are forged, most other KB's are not ... the others won't take 150HP NOS for very long.

I don’t plan on constantly drag racing the car, maybe couple times a year. I’m trying to keep the car original, staying away from 4 link suspension.





I’m thinking of just getting a Complete Eaton Bullet Proof Differential from JAGS, and convert it to a 12 bolt and 30 spline axles, since Toms differentials 1480 Vette Axle kit is 30 spline.
