I would like to improve the ride of my 1996 C-4 w/o Electonic Suspension.

What would you recommend for changing the shocks?

I am looking to improve the ride, not raise performance. I use it to tour, not race.

Thanks!:pat

I see posts about AC Delco Reactech, but from my research these seem to be for C-3 models.

Research also says that Bilsteins, although good, may be too hard a ride.

This leaves me with KYB's.

Do you know of others for a C-4, again improving the ride, not performance is my goal?

Thanks!

I just put a set of Monroe Sensitrac shocks on my 86 coupe. It rides great, handles well, and they took the BITE out of the bumps...had Blistiens and they rode too rough.

I don't run my Vette hard, but am more of a daily driving person...not that I don't get on it once in a while...anyway, these worked for me.

I bought them at Advanced auto parts and they had a special of $25 rebate...cost was about $75.

Thanks zog,

That looks like more what I am looking for, and how I drive mine too!

Thanks again!

I just installed the KYBs after reading favorable reports here.
Got the entire set delivered for $130 from the tire rack !!
Good, cheap, lifetime warranty.

My driving is in line with what you are doing, cruising around not racing.

Edelbrock IAS is a good firm, but easy-riding shock.

I agree I have the Edelbrocks and I am very hapy with them

Here is the information from the Advance Auto Parts website:

Quite a variation in price... I know the KYB are Gas shocks... not sure about the Edlebrock:

Monroe 5892
Shock Absorber: Frt.; MONROE S-T CAR SHOCK
Lifetime Limited Warranty Ships in 1 day
$13.97

KYB KG5570
Shock: Gas-A-Just; Exc. Adjustable Suspension
1 Year Limited Warranty Ships in 5 days
$57.99

Edelbrock 3340
SHOCK ABSORBER: Performer ISA Shocks; Shock Absorber; Front

$119.99

Hope this helps!
