Need an Alternator Bracket for my65 Cp. The tricky part is finding one that mounts on the passenger side of the engine compartment. All of the wireing is on that side for the regulator and the alternator. I don't feel like rewireing the car just to mount it on the driver side.

Now their are several out their that will do the deal but your looking at $150.00 plus to do the deed. I'm looking for something in the $50.00 To $100.00 range or even cheaper. I like those fancy smanshe do dad ones with the spherical joint rods that adjust in and out. But at this point ... I'd like to find a nice chrome unit to do the job. Also the 502 uses a Short Water Pump and this also presents a problem locating a nice bracket.

Any Idea's????......

Mark, look at applications for big block Impalas, Novas, Camaros & Chevelles. I'm sure some of these had the alt on the pass side. Most early (65-69) had short water pumps too.

Do you have headers or stock style exhaust manifolds. Hooker makes a chrome bracket that mounts to the header bolts. Jegs has them.

Good advise, I have a small block in a 52 F1 and the alt is on the pass side a long bolt with a spacer to the head on the bottom and a bracket that bolts to the waterpump/manifold/alternator to adjust it. I believe you can buy them in chrome from Summit of even J C Whitney.
