I really appreciate any advice offered here.
I have a vortech supercharged 92 topless. Today I was out driving and the S/C belt frayed a little. It scared the hell out of me. A part of the belt was slapping a metal peice under the hood and made a sound similar to a cylinder misfiring. Then when I would accelerate the car wasn't crisp like it always is. After pulling into a parking lot and popping the hood I saw the problem and cut off the offending "slapping" peice of belt and limped a couple of blocks home.
Anyway, I got a replacement 51 inch 6 groove belt per instruction by Chris & DJ @ Vortech's technical support site. I've started looking at how to replace the belt and it pretty much looks like I need to remove the bracket and S/C from the car to get it swapped out. I didn't install the S/C and am looking for advice on the best way to go about doing this without having to rip out "everything."
Cheers,
John
