Suspension and handling question

I figured out what all the noise was in the front end. The driver's side transverse rubber bushing was shot and squirming all over the place.

I removed both bushings and added the Mid America lowering wedges. WOW... I couldn't even get the floor jack back out!!! I had to use another jack to lift the Vette off the floor jack.

My question is: since I lowered the front, do I HAVE to lower the rear also?? In the kit, Mid America gave me the 2 longer bolts to lower the rear suspension, but I really like the look of the front low to the ground and the back a little higher.

It has a real wedge look to it.

I just don't want to have handling problems due to the lowered front but not rear.

As long as it's aligned properly you should have any real problems, but bear in mind, you have changed the geometry used by the factory to give a reasonable compromise between ride comfort and handling. Your ride comfort level will be a little harsher now.

Your handling also may not be as good with the front lower than the rear, but it shouldn't affect it that much unless you're into road racing or autocross. If drag racing's your thing, then... :bu

It will also upset your f/r weight bias some, especially under hard braking. If you brake hard into a corner there will be less weight on the back end. You could end up with a lot of drop throttle over steer. I'm sure someone will know more about this than I.....
That said, I'd like to see a picture of the car with just the lowered front end.

I decided today that I will lower the rear some. With the new longer bolts, I can set it to several positions.

Right now it has 255/50 16's on the rear and 225/60 16's on the front. (I bought it that way...I didn't do it!!!!) So, with 50's on the front it will sit even lower and that may have an effect on the handling.
