Since I decided to use weiand 144 supercharge on sbc350. Do you guy thing the stock suspension can handle the power, or I should go for the after market kits. If I hav to go for the after market kits which kits I should go for. For street use. Thx every one
Chang ... Since I'm from Thailand so I have to plan what to buy carefully because the shipping cost is very concerned.

I would worry more about the strength of the rear end and the stock axles before the suspension, although I have been drooling over that new RideTech suspension lately.

Thank you Crimson for your advise, so if you were me which axles I should buy. I hav no idea about it. Thanks a lot... It's would be better if you plz tell me which part I should buy in order to Handel the upgraded engine.

What kind of a hp and torque numbers are you thinking the engine will make after the weiland is bolted up?

Without this its very difficult to advice something!

Greetings Peter

It should be around 550hpwith550torque. I get this info fm someone who hav the same setting. Thank you

My son has that setup on a 75 only he added Nox. If you push it hard, and why build it to over 500 hp if you are not going to, you need to upgrade the drivetrain from the flywheel back. It's that simple. I build these all the time. With my sons setup he broke a prepped 10 bolt diff, 2 super T10 4 speeds, twisted the drive shaft, broke the slip yoke on the new Tremic 5 spd, Dead hooked and sheared the inner/outer 1350 solid spicer joints. I ended up building his one of my 1480 12 bolts using Tom's axles, Tom's offset arms with 31 spline outer axles setup to my spec's, 3.5" 1/2 shafts, custom driveshaft with 1350 slip yoke and billet 1350 pinion yoke, frame gussets, solid mounts and a LOT of machine work and custom fitment. The most power I built a diff for was 950hp at the crank.

IF you are overseas, good luck with finding someone that knows these. There are very few here that know how to do it and I haven't seen anyone close to the way I built them. If you have access to a machine shop and take your time call Tom and get his 1480 setup and give it a shot.

Thanks for the reply Gerry! I want to add if you have a alu diff 80-82 type it if even worse. Remember that the most stressful moment for the car is the moment just before the tires begin to spin. Wider and strickier tires worsen this problem!
But if you're somebody who likes the numbers that the engine's laying down but you're not the go fast type then don't worry about it ;)

Greetings Peter

thank you everyone for enlighten me. Actually for now I do have only the 1969 c3 and the sbc350 engine and I never have experience with amarican muscle car before. My goal is to get about 500hp then I decided to go withe the supercharge. Since u guys told me there is so much things I have to do if I go beyond 500hp, so please tell me the easiest way to archive 500hp on the sbc 350 with out using NOS since it's kinda hard to refilling it in my country. Thank you so much....

There is no easy way and there is certainly no cheap way. The car was built to handle (maybe) 400HP and have still some sort of decent reliability. If you go beyond that, virtually everything in the drive train and frame will need to be upgraded at great expense.

Making 500+ HP on a dyno might be 'fun' and good for bragging rights but it doesn't mean that the car will be enjoyable or practical on the street.

Mike has a very good point. I won't even get in my son's car, I'm not as flexible as I once was and those racing seats are killer! The car is basically a 10 sec blast and driving it for 30 minutes will beat you up. The bullet mufflers are louder then side pipes and while this car is very streetable getting 10mpg with a 10 gallon fuel cell isn't going to get you far. He likes it, me I like my stockish 72 coupe with about 325 hp. I can drive it for hours. Be sure about what you want, doing all the mods you need- engine, trans, IRS will put you well over $15,000 or more depending how far you go.

At first the reason that i want the 500hp with the super charge because i base on my former car (audi sportcar). Its drive fun and i love when the turbo is spoll up. But since you guys told me the fact that its not easy and would cost alot of money. May be i have to stick with 3-400 Hp NA.

You can keep an Audi on the road with your eyes closed with that kind of power. If you take an old C3 with 500hp you don't have enough hands to keep it under control. Be carefull what you wish for ;)

Greetinfs Peter
