My '67 has a Turbo350 that needs rebuilding. I'm thinking of swapping it for a 4 speed. The car is NOM with the exception of the trtans. It originally was a Powerglide. Has anyone swapped an auto for a 4 speed. I understand that there is not much modification need for the frame.

I haven't fully converted a Corvette, but I did other cars during the 60s and my 66 roadster had a th400 behind the 468bb when I got it. I put a Muncie back. The Muncie cars have a small bracket welded to the frame for the clutch cross shaft. The engine has a corresponding threaded hole for the pivot ball at the other end of the cross shaft. The clutch pedal is the pita. I believe it is an assemby with the brake pedal. In my 66, the original clutch pedal was wired up under the dash.

Use a hurst shifter to avoid the rattles and locking in two gears hat come with the GM shifter.

Make sure that you get a matched clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. I am using a reman 11inch unit for a Camaro with a Bellville (diaphram) spring. It works great.

The frame won't need anything - all midyear frames had the welded bracket for the clutch cross shaft; one part number frame was used on all cars, manual or automatic.
