The T.I. wiring harness on my 67 has a white (cloth type) resistance wire at the beginning of the 12 volt feed to the ignition system and another at the
+ side of the coil.
What is the purpose of this resistance wire?
1. Is it suppose to reduce the voltage to the pulse amplifier? If so, what voltage should I have going into the amplifier (18 pink)?
2. Is it some type of safety device to protect the amplifier against a short circuit?
Several people have told me #1 is correct but no one seems to know what the voltage drop is. The NCRS electrical wiring diagram makes reference to #2 that would indicate there is no voltage drop.
Thanks,
Mike
