Quick question...Would a T/T steering column allow me to locate the steering wheel closer to the dash than a standard column? Right now the bottom of my (standard) steering wheel is 21" from vacuum override knob, which I used as a reference. Can someone who has a T/T set up, and is willing to dig up a tape measure, please take a few minutes out of there schedule and make this measurement for me?

Thanks,

Michael

My tele goes from roughly 19" to 21". I measured from the vacuum knob right up the steering column to top of the horn on the steering wheel. So basically I have 2" of tele movement. Hope it helps! :beer

My vac override knob is missing so I don't have a reference point but I did measure the travel and it's the same two inches as tonyk has on his.

So basically what you are saying is that the closest you can get it is 19" to the front of the horn button. This is the info that I needed, however it's not the answer that I wanted to here. I thought that maybe GM would have split the difference and made it adjustable between 18" and 20". 19" is the distance of the standard column at the points you measured. I really appreciate the help. Humm....I wonder what it would take to shorted it to say 17"?????

Thanks,

Michael

I would prefer mine shorter also. I think it would take major surgery to make it shorter and probably more work then it would be worth.. Just bend your elbows a little more.

I am not completely comfortable with mine even with it retracted all the way, but then its not a Cadi either.
