T-Tops

T-top does not refer to the shape of the roof, but rather it is short for Targa Top. The original design was a pure Targa but body flex demanded the center bar, discovered late in the design.
I was under the impression that the 2 piece design was because a one piece top wouldn't fit behind the seats.

Just out of curiosity, what prompted this question?

I found a 1974 for sale and was told it had t-tops. I was not aware the 74 models had t-tops. Thanks

I wouldn't believe too much of what was said on the linked web site, I saw lots of factual errors and 'internet legends' being recirculated.
