tach filter wire

I have an 84 vette, and while replacing the hood release cables I had a wire come off that was connected to the coil at the same spot as the tach filter. The wire for the tach filter is still connected, can anyone tell me where the other wire would connect to.:confused

If its the red wire thats loose, it goes in the spot right of the tan tach wire, right next to the tach wire. Should be the tach on the left, power/red on the right and the plug behind that has 3 wires all in different slots mounted in one plug. You can pull the coil cover off and see the contacts and their corresponding colors, all this assuming that it is GM HEI.

its the white wire that is for the tach it just has another wire coming out of the same connector.

That is tacho signal ; maybe a PO had a aftermarket tacho installed?

so it is of no use, and does not need to be connected to anything.
