Greetings to all:
Let me tell you about myself. I am 6'6" and about 280 and I am really interested in one of the early 70's vettes especially a convertable if I can find one. My question is, do you think at my height, could I actually fit into one. I have sat in a C5 and the fit was kinda tight.

Where are good places to look at older vettes? There are three places in the Atlanta area that sell older/newer vettes. Would it be a good idea to look there or should I go thorough Autotrader and the local newspaper.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post and answer my questions.

THANKS!!!
RASCH :)

Sort of late on the reply , but, NO ,don't even try. I'm 6'-3" -260# and my head either hit the roof panels or I looked at the windshield header in my '73. Now my '65 coupe is another story.

It would be extremely tight, and I think you would get tired of struggling to get in and out because it sits very low. My husband is 6'3 190, very long legged and has a horrible time, especially if the tops are on.

Try a few on...

I've said elsewhere that people can be the same height and weight but will each have different problems fitting in a vette because of distribution. Some people have longer torsos, have longer legs or carry their weight differently.

Sit in a few. I think you'd wind up with more room in a convertable because the headliner/top is so thin. The t-top vettes have less headroom because of the t-top liner. Glass t-tops allow more headroom, but also let in more heat in summer sunshine.

You can also play around with how you set tilt steering wheels and the seat pushed all the way back. Worn seats may also allow you a little more room up top. Sit in a few and see how you like them.

As for dealers, give them a try since they should have several you can sit in but I'd personally purchase from a private individual. No dealer trying to make his profit off you!
Welcome to Corvette Action Center and good luck with your search.
