Does anyone know of a link to help adjust the targa top?

I am having a problem getting the targa side seal to match with the A-Pillar seal. It leaks like a water fall. I have been adjusting for a Day and a Half and still no better than it was before I started.

Any and All help appreciated. Thanks.

I wasn't aware the top is adjustable. What is it you've been adjusting on it?

I Have been adjusting the front Catches and the window's. I finally got it to Match on the passenger side but there is almost 1/4 of an inch gap on the drivers side now. The gap is where the targa top seal meets the molding on the windsheild. I can only get one side to match not both.

Did you put new weather stripping in? And if so did you get the GM strip or some other company. I've heard of having problems with "other companies" weather strip with it not matching up properly.

Is your corvette on a level surface?

I think you need to remove the door panel and adjust the window. Their is numerous adjustments for the window...you could adjust it and get lucky on the first try...or you could spend hours tinkering with it.

I have been Adjusting the window for days. I have Messed with both windowa and got alot of that straightened out. This is actually my brothers car. He had someone else install the new seals not sure if they are GM or Aftermarket. I am trying to clean up someone elses mess!!

Yes it was on a flat surface.

Im just trying to help him out. The guy he took it to in N.J. to try to get it fixed wants to charge him $2500.00 to reinstall new seals and get it to stop leaking.

I was just trying to get it to stop leaking.

I have worked on alot of convertables and other cars messing with windows and things like that.

One thing I have seen on another car that would help the Vette's alot is the weather strip that runs down the A pillar to the fendershouold be hollow in the middle. So this way if it leaks it won't go back in the car it will leak into the fender area. That is how most of the water is leaking into my brothers car.

I am pretty much at the point that he needs all new seals again..

Sorry so long just getting MAD with this thing. It has only been 4 days trying to get it fixed.

Can you post a picture of exactly where it is leaking? Does it look like the window needs to be pushed forward? or does it look like the window is not rolling into the rubber seal?...I know the feeling you are having, I worked on mine for hours...how does the doors seams line up? Does the doors close easily?

Sorry the car is gone at the moment for about a week or so.It is leaking where the Targa top seal meets the windsheild seal. I can get one side perfect but then the other side has a big hole. It almost seems like the targa top isn't wide enough. It is very weird.

Here is a link to the C4 tech tips located elsewhere on this forum site http://corvetteactioncenter.com/kb/question.php?qstId=423

I realize this sheet is for earlier models but it looks very similar to the sheet I received when I bought my 95 new and ordered the clear top from GM. If the link does not help, I can probably dig out the sheet that I have and scan or fax it to you.

Thank you for the link That might help a little once I study it really good.

Thanks again
